In the morning you will drive 192 km in a safari game viewer vehicle on a tarred road with a professional guide to Makgadikgadi Pans National Park lying southeast of the Okavango Delta surrounded by the Kalahari Desert. The Makgadikgadi Pan is a salt pan situated in the middle of the dry savanna of north-eastern Botswana, and is one of the largest salt flats in the world. Very little wildlife exist here during the harsh dry season of strong hot winds and only salt water, but following a rainy season the pan becomes an important habitat for migrating animals including wildebeest and one of Africa’s biggest zebra populations, Flamingos and the large predators that prey on them. Wonderful morning and afternoon game drive inside the Makgadikgadi Pans. As very few animals migrate in and out of the pan, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, jackals, antelopes, Meerkat and many birds’ species. Your Driver/Guide will be in contact with other safari drivers and will amaze you with his skill at locating the hidden animals.
Several observation towers enable you to overview the park in its entirety. Makgadikgadi pans themselves are salty desert whose only plant life is a thin layer of blue-green algae. Overnight; Makgadikgadi Pans
